CHALLENGE

How do you turn a region full of history and natural beauty into a global tourism brand? The Region of Western Greece has a priceless treasure: Olympia, a destination symbol of global recognition.  The challenge was to capitalize on this unique heritage and create a tourism identity that would unite the three regional units (Ilia, Aitoloakarnania, Achaia), highlighting Western Greece as a modern, attractive and competitive destination.

 

ACTIONS

We launched “Olympian Land”, an international tourism brand that draws inspiration from the sun of Western Greece, its epic nature and the heritage of Olympia.   Through an integrated branding and communication strategy, we connected the region’s name with the global values of Olympism and hospitality.

But we didn’t stop there. We also developed the “Olympian Breakfast”, a sub-brand that incorporates more than 50 local PDO and PGI products, strengthening the link between the tourism sector and local production and entrepreneurship.

In the same innovative spirit we presented two innovative digital tools:

Epic Of Course – The first digital training platform for tourism professionals in the Region of Western Greece.

Olympian Land AI Travel Guide – The first travel guide based on artificial intelligence (AI), providing personalized recommendations to visitors, presented at the 87th Thessaloniki International Fair.

 

IMPACT

+66% increase in visits to the Region of Western Greece from the main countries of origin of travelers (2021-2022).

+72% increase in travel receipts in the same period.

Through a holistic approach, combining communication strategy, branding, promotion of local entrepreneurship and innovative digital solutions, we helped the Region of Western Greece to strengthen its tourism footprint and gain a dynamic presence in the international market.
